Summit Assembly is a Church Plant of the Assemblies of God. Founding
Pastor
Cliff Waterman and his family began meeting as a core group at a Lee’s
Summit school in October 2001. In April 2002 the property at 1050 SE
Century Drive was leased and they began a tenant finish that would fit
the needs of the church. The core continued to train and prepare
towards the “Grand Opening” planned in October. On the weekend of
October 5th & 6th, 2002, the church announced
the Grand Opening of Summit Assembly and held the 1st
Annual Fall Harvest Festival.

Summit Assembly is a Community and Family based Church. We are
committed to Family values, dynamic worship, and word ministry by
building relationships through Fellowship, that the world may believe
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ.

1.
Scriptures (the
Holy Bible) written by men moved by the Holy Spirit are inspired and
are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule
of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter
1:21).
2.
There is one
true God revealed as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator
of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind (Deuteronomy 6:4;
Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19).
3.
Lord Jesus
Christ is the eternal Son of God.
a.
Virgin
birth (Matthew 1:23).
b.
Sinless
life (Hebrews 7:26).
c.
Miracles testify
(Acts 2:22).
d.
Substitutionary
work on the cross
(1 Corinthians 15:3).
e.
Resurrection
from the dead
(Matthew 28:6).
f.
Exaltation to
the right hand of God
(Acts 1:9).
4.
Man voluntarily
committed high treason against God’s Word thereby incurring not only
physical sickness and death but also spiritual death, which is
separation from God (Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12).
5.
Christ has
reconciled us to the Father. If man confesses Jesus Christ as Lord
and believes that God raised Jesus from the dead, he/she will be
saved. It is through the heart that we believe and through the mouth
that we confess our faith for salvation (Romans 10:13).
6.
The Church
celebrates two lasting ordinances. Water Baptism by immersion as a
public witness to our spiritual renewal (Acts 10:47).
Holy Communion
consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine
(1Corinthians 11:26).
7.
All believers
should expect the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy
Spirit (Acts 1:8).
8.
This experience
is initially evidenced by speaking in unknown languages (tongues)
(Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12-14).
9.
Believers should
live a life of conviction. This act of sanctification calls us to
separate from evil and unto a holy lifestyle
(Romans 12:12).
10.
The Church is a
fellowship of believers and is the body of Christ (Hebrews 12:23).
11.
The Ministry is
a divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership of the Church
to equip believers to works of service.
The Ministry is
to invest its time to pray, preaching, and training in righteousness
(Ephesians 4: 11-16).
12.
Everywhere that
Jesus went He healed the sick. The Church is commissioned to heal the
sick. Therefore, Divine Healing is atoned for and is a privilege of
all who receive the Good News (Isaiah 53:4).
13.
Jesus was raised
from the dead as the first-fruits of the resurrection. All who
express faith in Jesus will experience resurrection to eternal life
(1Thessalonians 4:16).
14.
Jesus said that
He would return to receive us to be with Him. The Second Coming of
Christ includes the rapture of the saints, and the millennial reign of
Christ upon the earth (Matthew 24:27).
15.
There will be a
final judgment for those who failed to confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew
25:46). Following the judgment whosoever is not found in the Lamb’s
Book of Life will be committed to eternal punishment
(Mark 9:43-48).
16.
Believers will
dwell eternally on a new earth (2 Peter 3:13). |
